Smith, Steve. No Place Left: A Saga of Destiny Fulfilled. Oakdale, LA: 2414 Ventures, 2015.
This past week I was given a copy of No Place Left by one of my team members. I was challenged and encouraged as I read through the author’s portrayal of what could happen when a small group of people decide to take the great commission of Jesus seriously. I couldn’t put the book down!
I was also encouraged to see the number of references in the book to ministries and resources that we are involved with here at Outreach Canada. The author refers to missions mobilization training programs Kairos and Perspectives. Outreach Canada is the national Coordinator for the Kairos Class in Canada (800 alumni in 3 years) and we have been coordinating the Perspectives classes in BC for years. The book also refers to Ying Kai and the T4T discipleship training program. We are hosting Ying Kai next month to do workshops in Vancouver on the development of disciple making movements. The author, Steve Smith, is also the lead author of T4T A Discipleship Re-Revolution (written with Ying Kai) which “Tells the story behind the world’s fastest growing Church Planting movement,” and how it can happen in our own communities. Many of us have also set our alarms to go off at 10:02 to remind us to pray daily for the Lord to raise up workers for the harvest based on Luke 10:2.
I hope you will take the time to read this book and allow it to challenge you personally as you get a taste of what I pray the Lord accomplish through his people. This is what we want to model at Outreach Canada.
